I am Onyekachukwu Ogwu, fondly known as The Anointed Problem Solver (TAPS).

I help people, organizations, and communities thrive by designing strategies, systems, and solutions that create real, lasting impact. My work spans corporate and development finance, financial education, creative expression, and faith-based leadership.

Professional Journey

I currently work as an Assistant Director at Ernst & Young (EY), advising domestic and international clients across Africa, Europe, and the UK on corporate finance, FP&A, deal advisory, M&A, and strategic planning. I lead projects from end to end, including market assessments, financial modelling, business planning, valuation, and board-level reporting.

Previously, I gained expertise at KPMG, PwC, and FirstBank Nigeria, where I managed complex financial oversight, budgeting, and enterprise performance initiatives. My approach blends analytical rigor with strategic insight to deliver tangible business results.

​

I have also led numerous development finance initiatives, supporting governments, donor programs, and private sector projects. My work includes strategy and action plans for AfCFTA, feasibility studies for infrastructure and industrial parks, and advisory on public-private partnerships. I have prepared high-impact proposals and business cases for organizations including FCDO, USAID, and GIZ, ensuring sustainable institutional and community outcomes.

I have a first-class degree in Accounting from the renowned Covenant University , a postgraduate diploma in theology from the Redeemed Bible College, and a Leadership certificate from the Daystar Leadership Academy. Additionally, I am an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)

Other Professional Expressions

I am passionate about equipping professionals and individuals to succeed financially and strategically. Over the past decade, I have trained more than 5,000 professionals worldwide in data analysis, financial modelling, advanced Excel, and analytical thinking.

Beyond professional training, I serve as a personal financial advisor, guiding individuals on wealth creation, budgeting, tax planning, mortgages, and long-term financial growth. My approach combines practical financial expertise with strategic insight, enabling clients to achieve financial freedom and security.

 

I also design custom coaching sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs that foster leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and personal development for the next generation. Through these initiatives, I aim to create lasting impact, empowering people to transform their professional and personal lives while making meaningful contributions to their communities.

 

Creativity & Musical Expression

Music and creative expression are core to how I engage and inspire. I am a recording artist, with my latest song, “For Me”, released in August 2025, a declaration that God is for us and we need not fear. The song has reached audiences across the globe.

 

I am also a gospel DJ, DJ TAPS, mixing various genres of gospel music to glorify God, bless people, and channel the creative gifts He has given me.

Additionally, I am an MC, hosting corporate and social events, including TEDx, conferences, weddings, and other social gatherings.

Social Impact & Philanthropy

I founded Smile Republik, a nonprofit social enterprise delivering scholarships, vocational support, and community programs that have positively impacted thousands of lives. Since its inception in 2016, it has reached over 1 million direct beneficiaries. I oversee initiatives that empower youth, advance education, and improve community wellbeing.

 

Faith & Ministry

Faith is at the core of my identity and leadership. I am a firm believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I serve in multiple capacities within RCCG Joseph Palace Dublin and as Assistant Coordinator (Finance) at the RCCG Pastors Seeds’ Family (PSF), a Christian youth community with over 30,000 members.

​

I also serve as Strategic Lead at YMR Global, overseeing the flagship event, the Young Ministers' Retreat (YMR) , Africa’s largest youth gathering, drawing over 200,000 participants. Through these roles, I blend faith with leadership, project management, and mentorship, equipping young people and faith communities to thrive spiritually, socially, and professionally.

I live a mission-driven life with my remarkable wife, Temitope Ogwu., sharing a commitment to purpose, faith, and service. Together, we invest in family, community, and initiatives that multiply impact while nurturing those closest to us.
